Speaker Profile:

Lecturer of the Department of English of the School of Foreign Languages, Guangdong University of Technology, graduated from the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies with a Ph.D. in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics.

Research interests:

Sociolinguistics, discourse analysis.

Topic introduction:

The study of disciplinary discourse involves the construction, dissemination and understanding of disciplinary knowledge. Focusing on the construction of disciplinary identity in applied linguistics, this study aims to analyze the changes in the discourse practices of Chinese applied linguists in different historical periods and its changes in disciplinary identity from a diachronic perspective, so as to further reveal the historical development of the Chinese applied linguistics discipline.

Faculty members with Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidature are required to attend. Other faculty members, postgraduate and undergraduate students are welcome to actively participate! (Attendance check will be strictly implemented.)
