Tmxmall National Translation Technology Lecture was held in our school on the evening of November 8, 2019, which has informed MTI students of some basic knowledge about translation technology. MAO Shuangshuang, a project manager, introduced carefully the development history, working principles, advantages and disadvantages of machine translation, pointed out that translators in the new era of Human-Computer Interaction must have higher language quality, according to the two themes of "machine translation and post-translation editing" and "the use of CAT”. And then, she suggested that students choose appropriate search engines, add terms in advance, and carry out pre-translation intervention in line with post-editing. She also gave specific examples to make students know more about how to prepare pre-translation. At the same time, she analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of stand-alone tools and cloud tools, and introduced the functions and use of Yicat in line with CAT.

The lecture tells us how to use translation tools from the perspective of translation technology companies, so that students can understand the current development trend of the translation industry and guide them to meet the challenges of the future industry. The development of translation technology has greatly improved the efficiency of translation work. MTI students must be fully prepared and plan their career development in advance under such a background of the times.
