The   2019 “FLTRP Cup” National English Speaking Contest was held in the lecture   hall (at Room 205-1, Teaching Building 1) of our school on the evening of   September 24. Wang Heyu, Zhang Juan and Li Yukun served as judges. Our school   dean Cai Rongshou, the deputy Party secretary He Jingyun, vice dean Li   Daoquan, and secretary of the Youth League Committee Xiao Wei came to the   scene to watch the contest.

The   contest consists of two parts: impromptu speeches and answering judges'   questions. The contestants present their favorite stories about China around   the themes of politics, economy, system and culture of socialism with Chinese   characteristics. After nearly 2 hours of intense competition, Lai Guizhen   from Class 1 of the major of translation and interpreting 2017, Zhong   Pengjia, from Class 2 of the same major 2016, and Xu Fangbing from Class 1 of   the Japanese major 2018, won the first prize and represented GDUT to   participate in the preliminary contest in the 2019 ”FLTRP Cup“ National   English Speaking Contest.

The   judges Wang Heyu, Zhang Juan and Li Yukun positively affirmed and appreciated   their careful preparation and excellent performance. They will also give   careful guidance to the three students who participate in this contest.
