In order to implement the college’s "14th Five-Year Plan" and promote the reform of its performance bonus distribution system, our school delegation of seven including Party secretary Liu Wei and dean Prof. Cai Rongshou and other leaders and teachers visited Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST) and Qingdao University (QU) for research and exchange on July 23, 2020. Leaders from the School of Foreign Languages, QUST held an exchange meeting with our delegation. They introduced their discipline and faculty construction, talent training, academic research and teaching, Party building in the school, as well as the major plans of the school’s "14th Five-Year Plan" and the construction and implementation of the performance bonus distribution system. They focused on promoting the integration of academic research and teaching, the construction of academic research teams, formulating incentive mechanisms that promote teaching through scientific research, identifying the characteristics of disciplines and creating a special platform for minority languages. With the orientation of serving QUST’s "engineering professional certification" and providing it foreign language support to build a "double first-rate" university, QUST sets out to promote the reform of college English curriculum, set up a college English teaching and research team, and improve the quality of college English teaching.
In the exchange meeting with the School of Foreign Languages, QU, the school’s leaders headed by the dean BIAN Jianhua welcomed our delegation. BIAN introduced their school's English major’s "English + Big Data" innovative experimental class, the German major, the national first-class undergraduate major construction unit, and Korean major, the national Ministry of Education characteristic major construction unit. He shared the core of their school’s "14th Five-Year Plan", such as the development layout of minority languages in the whole industry chain, cross-language big data team and platform construction, the discipline influence enhancement, teaching and research integration, and student work brand building supported by discipline capacity construction, academic conferences and lectures, etc.. He introduced their school’s performance bonus distribution system, which is linked to the objective responsibility, quantified assessment indicators, attached equal importance to teaching and academic research, and took "more work and more gain" as the important principle.
