—Ms.   LIU Jing from our school acts as a speaker in Nanyue Famous Teachers'   University Lecture

On the afternoon of April 25,   2020, Liu Jing, a teacher in the Department of English of GDUT, was invited   as a guest speaker to participate in the Nanyue Famous Teachers' University   Lecture of the Foreign Teachers Society co-sponsored by the China Foreign Language   Teaching Materials and Methods Research Center and Shanghai Foreign Language   Education Press. Centering on the theme of "Exploration and Practice of   the Flipped Classroom Teaching Model of College English Based on the We   Platform”, the eleventh online training shares online teaching experience for   foreign language teachers in universities of Guangdong and Hainan. Lecture   guests coming to this online teaching training include DENG Chaoqun from Guangdong   University of Petrochemical Technology and CHEN Xiaozong from Guangdong   Police College. Most teachers in our school participated in this online   training.

Our school’s Ms. LIU gave a   report titled "Online Teaching Sharing Based on the We Platform".   Starting from her rich online teaching experience, she systematically   introduced how to use the teaching platform to realize the transition from   off-line teaching to on-line teaching in the process of online teaching,   achieving the shift from traditional teaching to flipped classroom. It   specifically includes pre-class preparation, classroom management, teaching   model design, learning analysis and evaluation, teaching summary and   reflection. During these operations, she introduced how to use “We Teach”(an   online teaching platform), how to cope with problems, and how to effectively   make use of resources, manage the appropriate time of going online, and   enhance classroom interaction in online education. The lectures were rich in   content, detailed and clear, which received praise from the audiences.

Two other guests, Mr. DENG   Chaoqun and Mr. CHEN Xiaozong, respectively showed how to effectively conduct   online teaching from the perspective of flipped classroom and “We Teach”.

 The online training is a   timely rain to the new format and heavy task of online teaching during the   COVID-19. Starting from her own teaching cases, Ms. Liu Jing provided   high-quality demonstration teaching, provided guidance for other teachers and   references for the construction and reform of our English courses, and promoted   the teaching reform of College English courses in our school. She also   offered references for the construction and reform of college English   curriculum, which is beneficial to us too.
