讲座摘要:
In this lecture, Prof. Sven Tarp will first discuss the information search process in all its stages and step from when an information need occurs to it is finally solved.
Prof. Sven Tarp will here show how knowledge of this process can speed it up and guarantee a much better result. Then he will divide the overall translation process in various phases and sub-phases according to lexicographical criteria, i.e. when needs may occur that can be solved by consulting dictionaries. These needs will be systematized into categories. Then the lecturer will discuss the various information sources, among them dictionaries, where the translators may get assistance to solve their needs. Finally, he will suggest and discuss a lexicographical solution to each category of information needs that may occur in the translation process. He will use examples from translation of specialized texts as these cover all relevant problems.
